The Back Half

The Back Half

In the post game huddle last Friday, I quickly reminded everyone of this. 5-0 is great! It is a blessing, and it should feel good. The truth though is this, none of these wins will go in a trophy case. They are building this team to be prepared for the moment, but ultimately none of them are significant enough to hang your season on. Simply put, if 5-0 is the highlight of our season, we failed during the back half of the schedule.

Our final bye week is coming at a great time. We are banged up after last week, and we need the time to refine our skills before the home stretch. We will spend this week fixing our own fundamental flaws, sharpening our swords, and getting even better at the things we need to chase being great. The final stretch of games we have are very tough. That's why this week is about strengthening our team, and preparing for this pivotal five week stretch.

We will play three of the next five at home, and that is a blessing! We start with Bacon at home (Homecoming), Thomasville on the road, Cook at home (Brotherhood Night), Berrien on the road, then Brooks at home (Senior Night). We must clean up our flaws this week in an effort to put our best foot forward during this stretch of games. We need to stay healthy and understand the opportunity we have in front of us.
The next three games are pivotal for the Jackets, and the stakes are getting high. We need to rely on The Brotherhood and our community more than ever. We would love to have each of you on the sidelines cheering on the Jackets at our next game! In the mean time encourage these players, stay in touch, and wear being a Jacket with PRIDE!
Times like these are special, and our biggest motivation is making The Brotherhood proud! When you're wearing Navy, you're as good as Gold! #GoJackets #4TB
